Ross Castle – A Cleethorpes Landmark with Stunning Views

Perched on the Cleethorpes seafront, Ross Castle isn’t actually a real castle but a Victorian folly built in 1863 as part of the town’s early promenade development. It was named after Edward Ross, the railway director who helped put Cleethorpes on the map as a seaside destination.

Although small, the castle offers some of the best panoramic views over the beach and out to the Humber Estuary. On a clear day, you can see across to Spurn Point and beyond. The elevated position makes it a great spot for photos, a quiet sit-down, or just taking in the sea air.

Over the years, Ross Castle has become a recognisable symbol of Cleethorpes, with its stone tower and battlementsadding a bit of character to the seafront. It’s right next to the Pier Gardens, so it’s an easy stop while exploring the promenade.
